Etro Anime is an electronic band from New York City formed in 1998. Musical genres used by the band include drum and bass, deep house, trip hop, downtempo, and breakbeat. The name "Etro Anime" means "to be infinite in spirit." The band currently consists of Anais Alonso, Ted Birkey, Harold Davis Jr., Thom Bell, and Gregg Jarvis.
Spreading Silence Etro Anime means "To be infinite: with spirit and in movement". Formed in 1998, the band embodied this mantra, beginning their career playing gigs in cozy New York City clubs including Izzy Bar, Rebar and The Spiral Lounge.

In 1998, Alea co-founded drum & bass/trip hop band Etro Anime. She co-wrote all the songs and provided lead vocals on their 2003 album See the Sound. Soon after, she left the band to pursue a solo career. Her debut LP, No Sleep, was released in multiple European territories on EMI in 2005.
