In February 1998, Incubus dismissed Koppel (DJ Lyfe). A friend recommended Chris Kilmore (DJ Kilmore) to fill the position. The band enjoyed Kilmore's style and attitude towards life and asked him to join the band.
From what I remember two things happened. 1- He almost deleted a track in the studio in the science album, the banter of which can be heard on the album. 2- And during a live gig one time he put his decks a LOT louder so no one could hear the other instruments. Also after he was fired and incubus became big.

It was the first appearance on a release by DJ Lyfe, who added turntable scratches to the Fungus Amongus songs, and also supplied saxophone samples. This release was also noted for its introduction of 'Chuck', the mysterious mustachioed man who has become an icon for Incubus's early work.
