Ambrose Dudley, 3rd Earl of Warwick, KG (c. 1530 – 21 February 1590) was an English nobleman and general, and an elder brother of Queen Elizabeth I's favourite, Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester.
During his mortal life, Warwick gained a reputation as the ‘Good Earl of Warwick’. Although a rather affectionate sobriquet, there is little evidence to suggest that Warwick was a particularly charitable benefactor, nor was he known for his outward kindness.
On this day in history, 21st February 1590, Ambrose Dudley, 3rd Earl of Warwick, Master of the Ordnance, Privy Councillor and fourth son of John Dudley, Duke of Northumberland, died at Bedford House on the Strand.

He was an elder brother of Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester. In 1561 he became Earl of Warwick and Queen Elizabeth I employed him in military expeditions in France and in England.
