Béla Bartók Music High School of Miskolc (Miskolci Bartók Béla Zeneművészeti Szakközépiskola) is situated in the Palace of Music (Zenepalota) in Bartók Square, Miskolc, Hungary. It is a music school named after the Hungarian composer Béla Bartók. It was founded in 1966.
Early musical career (1899–1908) Bartók's signature on his high-school-graduation photograph, dated 9 September 1899. From 1899 to 1903, Bartók studied piano under István Thomán, a former student of Franz Liszt, and composition under János Koessler at the Royal Academy of Music in Budapest. [12]
Béla Bartók was a Hungarian composer, pianist, ethnomusicologist, and teacher, noted for the Hungarian flavour of his major musical works, which include orchestral works, string quartets, piano solos, several stage works, a cantata, and a number of settings of folk songs for voice and piano.
