12 de feb. de 2019 · After a lackadaisical country-rock album in 1971 and a Mamas & the Papas contract-fulfilling reunion disc later that year, Denny Doherty laid low for a couple years before issuing this obscure effort. Waiting for a Song is a rather depressing record, Doherty being mired in melancholia more or less from beginning to end.
Denny Doherty is one of the great vocalists of the sixties, a singer described by Mamas & Papas' Michelle Phillips as 'The Psychedelic Frank Sinatra.' With the demise of the group amid drug-induced acrimony, Denny embarked on a solo career which culminated in the 1974 LP Waiting For A Song.
