Outlaws are a southern rock band formed in Tampa, Florida in late 1967 by guitarist/vocalist Hughie Thomasson, drummer David Dix, bassist Phil Humberg, guitarists Hobie O'Brien and Frank Guidry, plus singer Herbert Pino . Guidry brought the name Outlaws with him when he joined (he'd been in another group that had that name).

Originally Formed in Tampa in 1967, The Outlaws quickly became known for their triple-guitar rock attack and three-part country harmonies. The band became one of the first acts signed by Clive Davis (at the urging of Ronnie Van Zant) to his then-fledgling Arista Records.

The band members during the 60’s were Hughie Thomasson (vocals/guitars), David Dix (drums), Phil Humberg (bass), Hobie O’Brien (guitars), Frank Guidry (guitars) and Herb Pino (lead singer).
