S1.E0 ∙ Pilot: Siege-Side Special. The episode begins with a continuity announcement from BBC 2, announcing the historic first crossing-over to KYTV's feed. The KYTV continuity announcer (caught in the middle of a tantalizingly rude-sounding news item) tells us that the embassy of the Turks & Caicos Islands has been taken over by terrorists.
KYTV was a sketch-based show which lampooned the new satellite television companies which had begun to operate in the UK. Each week, a different aspect of 'cheap' television production and broadcasting provided the 'theme' for the sketches in the programme.
