9 de jul. de 2022 · Princess Poomaikelani was kahili bearer during Kalakaua's official coronation. She died at Kalihi Valley, Oahu, 22 October 1895, two years after her cousin Liliuokalani had been overthrown. She was interred in the Kalakaua Crypt, at the Royal Mausoleum of Hawaii.

She was still only 15 years old when she married Hiram Kahanawai, who served as chief steward and butler in the royal household under King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma from 1855 to 1863.
