25 de nov. de 2016 · Today, on the eve of a new Man studio album called Diamonds And Coal, he and the band’s current bassist, guitarist, vocalist and tuba player Martin Ace are reminiscing a while about the legacy of an idiosyncratic group that began life in 1968 and still stubbornly refuses to give up the ghost.
This was the first album without any original members. Micky Jones son George took his place, when Micky fell seriously ill and died in 2010. Also original member Deke Leonard left and his place was taken by Martin Ace's son Josh. At the moment Martin Ace is only longtime member, he become into band in it's third album.
Martin John Ace. Profile: Bass player and vocalist. Joined Man in 1969. Left in 1972 and was a member of Deke Leonard's Iceberg but returned briefly to Man for a tour in Spring 1975. Later in the 1970s joined The Motors for a while. Rejoined Man when they reformed in 1983 and has been a member ever since.
18 de oct. de 2022 · This Man line-up, after extensively touring the UK, USA, and Europe, decided to call it a day, with Man reforming seven years later in 1983. The new lineup consisted of Deke and Micky, a returning Martin Ace on bass, and the very talented John Weathers, from progressive rock luminaries Gentle Giant, joining on drums.

Although Deke was in and out of The Jets, Martin stayed on until late 1966, surviving a name change to Smokeless Zone and the arrival of Terry Williams on drums. He and guitarist Brian Breeze played together briefly in Ace/Breeze until Martin and Terry Williams joined The Bobcats in the early part of 1967.
