Gikor is a fascinating examination of the lives of Georgian Armenians in the 19th century, seem through the eyes of a peasant boy. The first half of the film explores the bond between a father and son, which is then contrasted with Gikor’s hostile relationship with the bourgeois trader who ostensibly cares for him.
Gikor’s peasant father wants to send him to Tbilisi for knowledge and experience, and gives the boy as servant to a horrible bourgeois family who mistreat him. Sinopsis
