Homerton College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. [3] Its first premises were acquired in Homerton, London in 1768, by an informal gathering of Protestant dissenters with origins in the seventeenth century. In 1894, the college moved from Homerton High Street, Hackney, London, to Cambridge.
With over 1,400 students covering all undergraduate and most postgraduate courses, Homerton College is one of the largest, youngest and most diverse Colleges at the University of Cambridge. Students from every background feel a sense of belonging at Homerton.
Homerton is one of the most attractive Colleges in Cambridge, with a mixture of old and new buildings set in spacious wooded grounds away from the city centre. It is also the largest College in terms of student numbers, with a thriving and diverse community.
Welcome to Homerton. We may be the youngest of all the Cambridge Colleges, but we have an exciting 250 year history – taking us from our original home in London to the Cambridge site you see today. We are proud to offer students all the University of Cambridge courses.
Homerton is both the largest and the newest College in the University. With a 250-year history, for much of which we were an acclaimed teacher training college, we received our Royal Charter in 2010 and now offer every subject at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
17 de mar. de 2010 · Homerton College has officially become the University of Cambridge’s newest self-governing full College. On Friday 12th March Sir David Harrison, the Chairman of the Homerton Board of Trustees, formally handed the Royal Charter to the Principal and Fellows of the College.
