Zoolook. A study in sampling and perhaps Jarre’s most experimental album to date, Zoolook was created in collaboration with musicians such as Laurie Anderson. Constructed from disparate sampled fragments of songs and speech in more than 30 different languages, Zoolook moves from avant-garde to electro and funk.
'Zoolook' is fun, funky and an excellent departure from the trademark JARRE sound. I can understand why people don't like this album. It's replete with weird vocalisations, courtesy of Laurie Anderson, and will certainly not be everyone's cup of tea. But if you like a dash of 'weird' with your music, have a go at this.

The intrigue of the first half is dulled by the inclusion of those same very dated drum sounds in the second half. I understand the title track, Zoolook, was somewhat revered by the hip-hop and breakdancing scene of the 1980’s, but it does nothing for me 🤷♂️.
