Irene Sutcliffe (12 July 1924 – 3 May 2019) was an English actress. She was best known for playing Maggie Clegg in ITV's Coronation Street, a role she played from 1968 until 1975. She had a long career; her first credited TV role was in 1953 on BBC's Sunday Night Theatre and her last in 2015.

She worked in rep at Liverpool, Leatherhead, Worthing and Wolverhampton and did seasons at Stratford-on-Avon and Chichester and toured with a Shakespearean Company.

30 de may. de 2019 · Coronation Street star Irene Sutcliffe, who played Betty’s younger sister Maggie Cooke, has died aged 88. Irene, who The Stage reports passed away on May 3 rd, first arrived on the cobbles in 1968 and went on to make over 400 appearances as Maggie until departing in 1975.
