Avi Dichter (en hebreo: אָבִי דִּיכְטֶר ) (Ashkelon, 14 de diciembre de 1952) es un político israelí. Exministro de Seguridad Interna y director del Shin Bet, renunció a la Knéset y dejó Kadima en agosto de 2012 para convertirse en Ministerio de Defensa Interior de Israel, cargo que dejó vacante en marzo de 2013.

Avi Dichter was born in 1952 in Ashkelon. He enlisted in the IDF in 1971 and successfully completed his training in "Sayeret Matkal", the elite General Staff Reconnaissance Unit and served in the unit as a fighter as well as in his reserve duty.
