John William Bricker (September 6, 1893 – March 22, 1986) was an American politician and attorney who served as a United States senator and the 54th governor of Ohio. He was also the Republican nominee for Vice President in 1944 .

US; State Attorney-General 1933–7, Governor 1938–46, vice-presidential candidate 1944, US Senator 1946–58 John Bricker was a conservative whose values reflected the isolationist wing of the Republican Party associated with Robert A. Taft. He attended Ohio State University, where he studied law.
The candidate for governor who led the party to victory that year and who was twice reelected, thus becoming the first Republican governor to serve three consecutive terms, was John William Bricker. Bricker was no "political accident."

JOHN W. BRICKER was born in Madison County, Ohio and received both his bachelor’s and law degrees from Ohio State University. He was deemed ineligible for military duty but entered the Army Chaplain Corps by special ordination of the Christian Church, reaching the rank of First Lieutenant.
