Henrietta Wilfrida "Frida" Leakey (née Avern; 1902 – 19 August 1993), also known as H. Wilfrida Leakey, was a British teacher who discovered a gorge that was named FLK or "Frida Leakey Korongo". The gorge was the site of ancient stone tools and important human fossil discoveries.
The Leakey family is a British and Kenyan family consisting of a number of notable military figures, agricultural scientists and archaeologists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Originally a family from Somerset and Devon in south-west England in the 1500-1600s, it has spread worldwide.
Louis Seymour Bazett Leakey (7 August 1903 – 1 October 1972) was a Kenyan-British palaeoanthropologist and archaeologist whose work was important in demonstrating that humans evolved in Africa, particularly through discoveries made at Olduvai Gorge with his wife, fellow palaeoanthropologist Mary Leakey.

19 de ago. de 1993 · Amongst her important finds was a fossil site in Tanzania, a side gully in the Olduvai gorge, later named the FLK, the Frida Leakey Karongo (meaning gully). It was at the FLK that Leakey's second wife, Mary, found the skull of Nutcracker Man, nearly 30 years later.
