Emilio Núñez Portuondo was a Cuban lawyer, politician, and diplomat. He held a number of important positions in the Cuban government before the 1959 revoultion, including senator, Minister of Labor, Ambassador to the UN, and most notably, Prime Minister of Cuba in 1958.
