The first Viscount was the younger brother of the industrialist Seymour Berry, 1st Baron Buckland, and the elder brother of fellow press lord Gomer Berry, 1st Viscount Kemsley. In a March 2022 by-election, the 5th Viscount was elected to replace Lord Rotherwick in the House of Lords following Rotherwick's retirement in February 2022.
He fought in the Second World War, in North Africa and Italy, and was mentioned in despatches. He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.). He succeeded to the title of 2nd Viscount Camrose, of Hackwood Park, co. Southampton [U.K., 1941] on 15 June 1954.
