Hugo Duminil-Copin is a professor at IHES and the University of Geneva, and a CNRS joint research unit member. He studies the critical behavior of various models on networks, and has won several awards, including the Fields medal in 2022.
We present a new computation of the critical value of the random-cluster model with cluster weight $q\ge 1$ on $\mathbb Z^2$. This provides an alternative approach to the result obtained by Beffara and Duminil-Copin.
