Jens Juel (12 May 1745 – 27 December 1802) was a Danish painter, primarily known for his many portraits, of which the largest collection is on display at Frederiksborg Castle. He is regarded as the leading Danish portrait painter of the 18th century.

17 de ago. de 2020 · Jens Juel. 1745 - 1802. Juel first studied in Hamburg and then, from 1765, at the Academy, Copenhagen. He worked in Rome (1772-6), Paris and Geneva before returning to Copenhagen in 1780. He became court painter in Copenhagen and, later, Director of the Academy.
