Jörn Leonhard (* 27. Mai 1967 in Birkenfeld/Nahe) ist ein deutscher Historiker. Seit 2006 ist er Professor für Neuere und Neueste Geschichte Westeuropas am Historischen Seminar der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. Für seine Forschungen erhielt er bereits mehrere wichtige Forschungspreise.
Jörn Leonhard (born 27 May 1967 in Birkenfeld) is a historian and professor of Western European History at the History Department of the University of Freiburg since 2006. From 2007 to 2012, he was co-director of the School of History at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS).

12 de mar. de 2024 · Der Freiburger Professor Jörn Leonhard forscht auf dem Gebiet der europäischen und transatlantischen Kultur- und Politikgeschichte des 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhunderts. Er hat das jüngste Buch über Kriege und ihre Beendigung veröffentlicht und zehn Thesen dazu formuliert.
Professor Dr. Jörn Leonhard, born 1967, studied Modern History, Political Science and German Language and Literature in Oxford (Master of Studies 1992) and Heidelberg (M.A. 1994). After completion of his Ph.D. (Heidelberg 1998) he taught Modern European History as a Fellow and Tutor in Modern History at Wadham College Oxford from1998 to 2003.
The historian Prof. Dr Jörn Leonhard, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History of Western Europe at the University of Freiburg, will receive the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize 2024, the German Research Foundation (DFG) announced on 7 December 2023.
