Rywka Lipszyc (pronounced as Rivka Lipshitz; 15 September 1929 – disappeared 10 September 1945) was a Polish-born Jewish diarist and Holocaust survivor. She was deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp followed by a transfer to Gross-Rosen and forced labor at its subcamp in Christianstadt.
Tragically, Rywka Lipszyc was now bereft of every member of her immediate family. Along with her three cousins, Rywka was sent from Auschwitz to Christianstadt, a woman’s camp near Gross-Rosen. After months of hard labor, they were marched to Bergen-Belsen.
There are only three further documents enabling us to reconstruct Rywka’s fate. The list of patients of hospital in Niendorf in Northern Germany dating to 23 July 1945 includes Rywka Lipszyc and a note “too ill to be evacuated to Sweden.” The list of prisoners liberated in Bergen-Belsen created in August 1945 also included Rywka Lipszyc.
