Some months ago I bought a new laptop (with better hardware than the previous one, just to be clear) and wanted to try out Minecraft with it. However, while Minecraft works, I wanted to try Optifine to see how much my new pc could handle; however, if I go even slightly above the standard Minecraft settings the game crashes.

First, find your crash report in .minecraft\crash-reports\ and open it in Notepad/Notepad++. Look for the line in your crash report starting with "Description:" The words after that will also appear above spoilers in the Crashes part of this thread.
12 de dic. de 2023 · I've been troubleshooting the problem for ages now, I've emptied the mods folder, uninstalled and reinstalled Forge (various versions), done the same for the Minecraft launcher itself, updated my drivers and software etc etc but nothing has worked so far.
