Se producía heridas, cortes o incisiones en su piel, revalorizando el sufrimiento y poniendo de relieve una visión doble del cuerpo: como símbolo de fecundidad y objeto sexual y como vehículo para la regeneración interior y la huida de la muerte, la búsqueda de la inmortalidad.
