Resumen: The synthesis of 2-aminopyrimidines derivatives 11 was carried out through dehydrogenation of 2-amino-1,4-dihydropyrimidines 10 using MnO₂ as an effective oxidizing agent, which was previously obtained via an efficient decyanation of 2- cyanoimino-1,4-dihydropyrimidine through selective rupture of N-CN bond by treatment with formic acid.
