In just a few weeks, add a semester’s worth of work to your academic achievements—and still have time to savor the best of summer. From the university’s most in-demand courses to advanced topics, Summer Term combines flexibility with academic rigor. Sessions are 3 weeks, 4 weeks, or 8 weeks long.
What we do. Partner with university schools and colleges to build summer offerings. Create new programs and communicate relevant Summer Term information to students, faculty and staff. Help students access the classes they want and need in summer to meet degree requirements. Manage multiple early-start programs for incoming students. Questions?
In the summer, students from around the nation enroll in intensive UW-Madison courses to complete the equivalent of one year of instruction in just 8 weeks. Languages are taught in the summer term through the Wisconsin Intensive Summer Language Institutes (WISLI) and through departments in the College of Letters & Science.
