The United States Military Academy (USMA) (West Point or Army) is a United States service academy in West Point, New York. The Washington Youth Academy is a state-run residential and post-residential intervention for youth who have dropped out of high school or are at risk of dropping out. It provides a highly disciplined, safe and professional learning environment that empowers youth to improve their educational levels and employment potential and become responsible and productive citizens.

The Washington Youth Academy is a state run military-style, boarding academy for troubled teenagers from 16 to 18. The first 20 weeks of the program are residential with a strict military schedule. Personal responsibility and self discipline are heavily emphasized during this part of the program.
