The tool calculates, for each strike in the chain, the total value of all of the options which would expire worthless if the stock were to close at that strike on expiration day. This is based on the current open interest at each strike.

Option flow can be a measure of a stock’s excitement and direction. It usually starts with smart-money building a position before the hype begins and anyone catches on. I will go into more detail on this in my next “Strategy” post, where I explain how I use option flow with my trading routine.
