The best tournament for Voronin was the 1968 Olympics, where he medaled in every event, except floor exercise, winning two gold medals (horizontal bar and vault), four silvers (individual all-around, parallel bars, rings and team event) and a pommelled horse bronze.
In Voronin’s 1976 autobiography titled Number One (Первый номер), he reflects on his final Olympic Games.By his standards, he struggled during the Soviet competitions prior to the Olympics, and while in Munich, he injured his ankle.
