The plot involves a laconic barber who after blackmailing his wife's lover becomes embroiled in an unexpected turn of events . Filmed in black and white, the film successfully evokes noir movies of the 1940s when the action happens; I say action but this is a very slow moving movie. Billy Bob Thornton is great as the barber.
