Aubrey Beardsley (born August 21, 1872, Brighton, Sussex, England—died March 16, 1898, Menton, France) was the leading English illustrator of the 1890s and, after Oscar Wilde, the outstanding figure in the Aestheticism movement. Drawing was a strong interest from early childhood, and Beardsley practiced it while earning his living as a clerk.
Aubrey Beardsley participe activement à cette revue, dont il est le directeur artistique, et y publie ses dessins mais aussi des textes. En effet, il est l'auteur d'un roman unique, The Story of Venus and Tannhäuser : Under The Hill (L'Histoire de Vénus et Tannhäuser, traduit par Michel Bulteau, a paru aux Éditions Viviane Hamy en 2007).

Aubrey Vincent Beardsley, né le 21 août 1872 à Brighton et mort le 15 mars 1898 (à 25 ans) à Menton, est un graveur et illustrateur britannique, souvent associé au mouvement de l’Art nouveau. Il reste connu pour ses illustrations stylisées et sinueuses en noir et blanc, où l’on perçoit l’influence de l’art japonais et de l'art rococo .
