ハインリヒ・ルドルフ・ヘルツ（Heinrich Rudolf Hertz, 1857年 2月22日 - 1894年 1月1日）は、ドイツの物理学者。マックスウェルの電磁気理論をさらに明確化し発展させた。1888年に電磁波の放射の存在を、それを生成・検出する機械の構築によって初めて実証した。
Heinrich Rudolf Hertz died aged 36 in Bonn on January 1, 1894 of blood-vessel inflammation resulting from immune system problems – specifically granulomatosis with polyangiitis. He was buried in his hometown of Hamburg, in the Ohlsdorf Cemetery. In 1930 the unit of frequency was named the hertz by the International Electrotechnical Commission.

Heinrich Hertz Heinrich Hertz nació el 22 de febrero de 1857 en Hamburgo, Alemania. Hijo de Gustav Ferdinand Hertz, abogado de ascendencia judía, y Anna Elisabeth Pfefferkorn, de creencias luteranas. Su progenitor fue senador en Hamburgo. Cursó estudios en la Universidad de Berlín. Aprendió árabe y sánscrito.
Heinrich Rudolf Hertz (1857-1894) fue un físico alemán nacido en Hamburgo. Hábil experimentador, que construyó un circuito resonante con una cámara de chispas con el que descubrió en 1885 las ondas electromagnéticas que predecían las ecuaciones de Maxwell, demostrando también las propiedades de reflexión de estas ondas y midiendo su longitud.
