  5. Nancy Hanks (1784-1818), born in Amelia County, Virginia, was the daughter of Joseph Hanks and Nancy Shipley Hanks. Her family later moved to Nelson County, Kentucky where she married Thomas Lincoln in 1806 at Beechland, Kentucky. They later moved to Indiana, where Abraham Lincoln was born.
