Attica (1974) Attica is an impassioned account of the 1971 rebellion at Attica State Prison in upstate New York. It is a famous landmark film because of its topic, its status as a germinal work of documentary filmmaking, and its place in the political history of New York State and the history of prison reform.

Pretty impressive! I watched Stanley Nelson's Attica documentary which came out last year. This film, Attica seems to have interviews that were conducted closer to when the incident happened. Both documentaries are powerful. The 1974 doc was recently inducted into the Library of Congress' National Film Registry.
