James Callaghan ( Portsmouth, 1912. március 27. – East Sussex, 2005. március 26.) munkáspárti brit politikus, 1976-tól 1979-ig az Egyesült Királyság miniszterelnöke. Callaghan már 17 éves korától közalkalmazott volt. Kezdetben az adóhivatalban dolgozott, és hamar kapcsolatba került a szakszervezeti mozgalommal.
