"In His Own Write" (1964) is a book by John Lennon, and represents his first non-Beatles project. It's a very short book, of just 80 pages. If you're a fan of Lennon's work, but haven't read this material, then I highly recommend the book - as well as it's sequel (A Spaniard in the Works (there's also a joint publication, see In His Own Write and a Spaniard in the Works).

The 78-page hardback book sold for nine shillings and sixpence, and contained 31 stories, numerous pen drawings by Lennon, and an introduction by Paul McCartney. About the Awful.
During the time he wrote "In His Own Write" in 1964 he was thrust into the heat of Beatlemania and world fame. Along with that came a huge weight on his shoulders. His books and his music were ways to release some of that weight and provide a little enjoyment for the people around him. This book is made to be funny and hard to get.
