O'Dea High School is a Catholic all boys high school founded in 1923 and is located in Seattle's First Hill neighborhood. The school is named after Edward John O'Dea who was bishop of Seattle when the school was built. O'Dea is a part of the Archdiocese of Seattle.
Since its inception, more than 8,000 young men have graduated from O’Dea and are part of our proud legacy. In 2023 we were honored to have celebrated our Centennial through a variety of events to honor our past and look to our future.

We educate young men and prepare them to be men of character, faith and service. O’Dea is the only all-male Catholic college-prep high school in the Pacific Northwest. Our educators intentionally use teaching practices designed to nurture young male brains.
Athletic success is a longstanding tradition at O’Dea High School, and with this tradition comes the responsibility to compete, with honor. The Fighting Irish have brought home 22 State Championships, 10 Academic State Championships, and 34 Metro League All Sports Titles.
