St. Augustine High School was founded in 1951 by the Society of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart (The Josephite Fathers and Brothers) through the Youth Progress Program of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The high school has operated from the same location since inception, 2600 A.P. Tureaud (formerly London Avenue).
Our school is best known for our rigorous academic programs. St. Augustine High School was constructed in 1951 by the Archdiocese of New Orleans through the Youth Progress Program. The building and the site on which it stands were purchased by the Society of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart, to whom the operation of the school was entrusted.
