Serpents Unleashed- the band’s fifth album to date- manages to do just that, pairing the blend of catchiness and carnage heard on 2011’s Forever Abomination with an organic, pleasantly raw production presently unmatched by the rest of Skeletonwitch’s studio material.
Ultimately, Skeletonwitch’s brevity does much more good than harm, though, and Serpents Unleashed comes off as a tour de force that demands to be played on repeat. Skeletonwitch has been a breakout candidate for years, and now a decade into their career, they’ve finally laid down an album that can play with the big boys of thrash. Tweet.

Moving on, Serpents Unleashed is Skeletonwitch ’s fifth full-length album and possibly the best re-thrash metal album of 2013.

3 de dic. de 2015 · Stylistically, Serpents Unleashed is barely a stone’s throw away from the blackened heavy metal of the 2004 debut. Granted, the musicianship and intensity have increased with time and age, but Skeletonwitch are a great example of a band that knew where they wanted to go from the very start.
