History. Departments. The Faculty of History at Moscow State University is divided into fourteen departments. Each department is made up of faculty members whose academic specializations, research interests and expertise correspond to specific periods, geographic regions, socio-cultural phenomenon, or sub-disciplines of historical science.

Faculty of Theory and History of Arts The Faculty trains specialists in theory and history of arts, antiquity, museum and exhibition activity. Each academic year is accompanied by a summer practice in various parts of Russia where students perfect their skills, experiment and paint plein-air studies under the supervision of their teachers.
With a historic address at Bol'shaya Nikitskaya St. 3/1, the Faculty of Arts is located in the heart of Moscow, withing the walking distance of the Kremlin, Sotheby’s auction house, The Historical Museum, and other major cultural and historical institutions.
