Billy Childish empezó como un poeta del punk en el Medway Art College en 1978, inmediatamente creó los Pop Rivets, en ocasiones escrito Pop Rivits (junto a Bruce Brand, Russell Wilkins and Russell Lax). Después lideró The Milkshakes, Thee Mighty Caesars, The Del Monas and Thee Headcoats, con su grupo paralelo Thee Headcoatees.
From 1986 Hangman Records, also run by Childish, released more than 50 LP records, including spoken word, experimental works and punk rock. Many local Medway groups and artists had their first releases on Hangman.

Una banda de Punk- Rock formada por Billy Childish a la voz, Bill Power a la guitarra, y Little Russ a la batería. En el año 1979 dan su primer concierto y sacan su primer LP Greatest Hits.
