  2. Oundle School is a public school (English fee-charging boarding and day school) for pupils 11–18 situated in the market town of Oundle in Northamptonshire, England. [1] The school has been governed by the Worshipful Company of Grocers of the City of London since its foundation by Sir William Laxton in 1556.

    Our story. Oundle traces its history back to 1556, when Sir William Laxton, Lord Mayor of London and Master of the Worshipful Company of Grocers endowed a ‘Free Grammar School’ in Oundle, where he had been educated at the original Gild School founded in 1506.
