Sabine Kabongo (* 1966 in Mol) is a Belgian singer of world music and fusion jazz with Congolese roots. [1] Kabongo became known as a member of the polyphonic vocal group Zap Mama , which was founded in 1989 in Brussels.
She is the daughter of a Belgian father and a Congolese mother. She had only been born a few days when her father was killed by the Simba rebels, during the Congo Crisis. [1] . The crisis resulted in the deaths of some 100,000 people.
