Billy is a saxophonist, songwriter, arranger and keyboardist. He has played with Elvin Bishop, Starship ,did sessions with Tower of Power and a memeber of Cold Blood before moving to Reno. Slais received the Air Force Commendation Medal for entertaining the troops during his tour of Vietnam.
The band first came to prominence in 1969 when rock impresario Bill Graham signed them after an audition, [1] and they played the Fillmore West in San Francisco. [2] . Pense has been compared to Janis Joplin, and it was Joplin who recommended the audition to Graham.
