Bishop Miege has won the state championship in football 11 times, occurring in 1972, 1975, 1977, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022. Miege is one of only two schools to win six consecutive state championships since the KSHSAA first sponsored playoffs to determine football state champions in 1969.

27 de nov. de 2022 · The Stags defeated Wamego 35-14 in the 2022 state championship game, led by quarterback Mac Armstrong and receivers Isaiah Coppage and Teryn Jackson. The game was a rematch of the 2019 title game, when Bishop Miege beat Wamego 35-13.
In 1873, Bishop John Baptist Miege, SJ founded the Parish of Sacred Heart not far from the original Jesuit mission site of 1836-1840. The country parish was active for almost 100 years, before being closed in 1970. The parish was then transferred to Immaculate Conception Parish in Leavenworth.
