Synthesizers & keyboards by Chris Stainton and J. Peter Robinson are prominent yet tasteful and the rhythm section of bassist Donald “Duck” Dunn and drummer Jamie Oldaker is first-rate. Additional percussion by Collins and Ray Cooper help to make this one of Clapton’s most rhythmically adventurous projects to date.
Bassists Donald Duck Dunn from Booker T. & the MG’s and Nathan East from the smooth jazz quartet Fourplay also played on the sessions. In his autobiography, Clapton remembers the 1984 session pleasantly: “The whole thing is going so great, I hope it never stops.”
Behind the Sun is the ninth solo studio album by Eric Clapton, released on 11 March 1985 by Duck Records / Warner Bros. Records. It is Clapton's first collaborative project with Phil Collins who co-produced the album and played on some of the tracks.
Donald " Duck " Dunn (November 24, 1941 – May 13, 2012) [1] [2] was an American bass guitarist, session musician, record producer, and songwriter. Dunn was notable for his 1960s recordings with Booker T. & the M.G.'s and as a session bassist for Stax Records.

24 de nov. de 2023 · The latest album to feature Dunn’s highly-touted basswork is Clapton’s own Behind the Sun, released earlier this year and the main reason for Clapton’s current tour. Dunn sat in on seven of the LP’s 11 tracks, most of which were produced by superstar vocalist Phil Collins.
