He wrote Atlantic Starr's 1986 hit "If Your Heart Isn't in It" and songs for Smokey Robinson, Jeffrey Osborne, George Benson, and Diana Ross. Stuart joined Paul McCartney ’s band (where he switched between guitar and bass as necessary with McCartney) for McCartney's 1989 comeback album, Flowers in the Dirt and appeared on several other albums and McCartney's world tours of 1989 and 1993 .
Lisa has never been one of my favorite Sanborn tunes and the cover of Al Green's Love & Happiness with vocal by Hamish Stuart (Average White Band) just doesn't work. The album recovers with the beautiful Lotus Blossom and a harmless cover of One Hundred Ways (originally from The Dude ).

Hamish Stuart (8 de octubre de 1949, Glasgow, Escocia) es guitarrista, bajista, cantante, compositor y productor. Formó parte del grupo Average White Band, de 1972 hasta su disolución en 1982, y después trabajó con artistas como Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan y David Sanborn.
