Matthieu Hartley, nado o 4 de febreiro de 1960, é un músico inglés procedente de Smallfield. É coñecido por ter sido o teclista orixinal de The Cure, pero antes diso estivo ao lado de Simon Gallup noutras dúas bandas chamadas Lockjaw e The Magazine Spies.
The band also enlisted new keyboardist Matthieu Hartley, a move that brought a slower, gloomier sound to the music, evident on their second album Seventeen Seconds. But their pop sensibilities still shone through, most notably on their first hit single, A Forest .
