Kweekschool ( bahasa Indonesia: Sekolah Guru) adalah salah satu jenjang pendidikan resmi untuk menjadi guru pada zaman Hindia Belanda dengan pengantar Bahasa Belanda (sejak 1865).
The findings indicate that the establishment of Kweekschool Fort de Kock was part of Dutch colonial efforts to educate and control the indigenous population in the Dutch East Indies. This school provided teacher education for indigenous students with the aim of creating educators loyal to the colonial government.
25 de nov. de 2022 · Untuk menghasilkan guru yang kompeten, VOC memutuskan mendirikan sekolah pendidikan guru yang disebut Kweekschool pada 1834. Awalnya, pendidikan guru diselenggarakan terlebih dulu di Ambon di tahun yang sama dan berlangsung hingga 30 tahun ke depan atau hingga 1864.

Sudah dibangun sejak masa kolonial Belanda, Kweekschool Fort de Kock setelah mengalami sejarah panjang kini lebih dikenal dengan nama SMAN 2 Bukittinggi dan menjadi sekolah tertua di Sumatera Barat.

Setelah pendirian sekolah guru di Surakarta berturut-turut didirikan sekolah sejenis di Bukit Tinggi (Fort de Kock) pada 1856, Tanah Baru, Tapanuli pada 1864, yang kemudian ditutup pada 1874, Tondano pada 1873, Ambon pada 1874, Probolinggo pada 1875, Banjarmasin pada 1875, Makassar pada 1876, dan Padang Sidempuan pada 1879.
