Air Commodore Alan Christopher Deere, DSO, OBE, DFC & Bar (12 December 1917 – 21 September 1995) was a New Zealand fighter ace with the Royal Air Force (RAF) during the Second World War. He was also known for several near-death experiences over the course of the war.

21 de sept. de 1995 · On 23 May 1940, during the closing phases of the Battle of France, Deere and Pilot Officer J. Allen flew Spitfires escorting Flight Lieutenant James Leathart across the channel in a Miles Magister to rescue 74 Squadron’s commanding officer, who had made a forced landing.
New Zealand officer served as pilot with 54 Sqdn, Nos 11 and 13 Groups, Fighter Command, RAF in GB, 1939-1940 including Battle of Britain, 7/1940.
Commandant at RAF Halton, UK, November 1965 - October 1967. Officially retired, October 1967. Director of Sport for RAF (a civilian position) to December 1977. During his World War II Flying career he had 22 confirmed victories, 10 probables, and a further 18 enemy aircraft damaged.
